Overview:
CONTINUE supported young people experiencing social exclusion to tackle the specific challenges of post-COVID times in terms of staying connected and integrated into European communities. The project will be delivered by a consortium of 8 non-governmental organisations from across Europe who were experienced in youth education and community-based activities. The work involved storytelling, social action projects, policy development, knowledge exchanges, an outreach campaign and the creation of an online platform.
People’s Voice Media worked with the consortium to use Community Reporting as a tool through which young people in 8 different locations across Europe had the opportunity to speak about the issues that are pertinent to their lives. They used this stories to help to set a local agenda for change and inform subsequent social actions in their communities. Our team also supported the consortium to establish Communities of Practice (CoPs) at both local and pan-European levels comprising of young people, local governance and policy makers, and frontline workers and strategic leaders of youth organisations. Through the CoPs we co-create policy and practice recommendations based on the insights and data from across the project’s different workstreams relating to youth participation in civil society and democracy. We collaborated with Gorsehill Studios to deliver the project at a local level with young people in Trafford, Greater Manchester.
Impact:
- 120+ stories gathered
- 80+ young people engaged in the project
- 6 social actions delivered
- 7 policy events held that engaged 120+ stakeholders
