The project aims to capture the impact Covid-19 on BAME Communities in North Kirklees and use these to commission relevant creative/wellbeing interventions. It will gather stories of lived experience from affected communities, using the Community Reporting methodology. These lived experience stories will be reviewed and use to co-create ideas/recommendations for the future. These ideas will then be used to inform behavioural and cultural support interventions for lifestyle change which will reduce the risk of health inequalities in our BAME communities (stroke, hypertension, cerebrovascular accident, diabetes, Covid 19).
Our Role
People’s Voice Media are developing a group of Community Reporters in Kirklees who are using storytelling to gather local insight on health issues and the challenges around wellbeing that different members of the community are facing. Working with our team, the Community Reporters will analyse the stories to make sense of their findings and co-produce a set of key recommendations. They recommendations will inform the commissioning of future health interventions and projects.
