EUARENAS is a Horizon 2020 funded project that explores cities as arenas of political innovation in the strengthening of deliberative and participatory democracy. This applied and mixed-methodological research project is responding to a major European challenge – that of the need to strengthen legitimacy of and the identification and engagement with a democratic public sphere.

Our Role

People’s Voice Media will be contributing to a range of research processes and activities in the project, including case study analysis, knowledge exchange, development of policy briefings and tools for change-making and wider dissemination actions. Specifically, we will be leading a work package on ‘Foresight’ that will hypothesize over future trends and scenarios in participatory democracies. Using a hybrid methodological approach to foresight research that invoices media discourse analysis, lived experience storytelling and social media signal capturing, we will address potential future challenges and responses to democratic governance through working with different people and perspectives to develop visions for future scenarios.
