Stories are vehicles that build bridges between people and support common understanding. Digital storytelling in particular, helps to connect communities and has thrived as a tool for social transformation and justice. This pan-European storytelling project is creating a shared public space for ‘COVID conversations’, focused on hearing the ‘unheard’ voices. This space will enable marginalised communities to share their lived experience with one another and institutional powers, to build a better society post-pandemic focused on cooperation and solidarity.
Our Role
People’s Voice Media has been working with existing network members and new connections to up-skill them in Community Reporting techniques via a series of online workshops. Using these skills, partners have been gathering stories from within their own communities of life during the pandemic. We have also run some pop-up storytelling workshops on this topic and intend to use the stories in the future to mobilise change. It is vitally important that these voices – those that are often unheard – are part of the on-going narrative and involved as active actors in rebuilding our future. The stories gathered can all be found here.
