NACCOM is a national UK charity that provides support for asylum seekers, refugees and migrants. They wanted to explore people’s experiences of the asylum system in terms of legal advice they may have or have not received, housing situations and other support they may have needed or accessed.

Our Role

People’s Voice Media worked with NACCOM to deliver a residential programme in which people who have sought asylum in the UK came together to be trained as Community Reporters and to share their experiences with other people involved the NACCOM network. As part of the residential, the Community Reporters explored important topics such as responsible storytelling practices. The stories gathered were then edited into a short film, exploring their main findings and we are currently working with NACCOM to devise a strategy to build on this work on a more ongoing basis.
