Community Reporters - Training
People’s Voice Media acknowledges that different people are comfortable with, and have uses for, different media. Flexibility and choice is at the heart of the programme.
A standard Community Reporter programme runs for approximately 12 days. However as a community development organisation, we always keep the need of learners at the core of our delivery. This means we frequently tailor course length and structure to meet the particular abilities, experience and requirements of each group. We also offer taster session to encourage participation in the broader programmes. Our training includes:
- A Mandatory module which includes: blogging, basic photography, story telling, health and safety issues, safe on-line practice, our editorial policy and guidance and consent.
- Core Module 1 and 2 participants need to complete one of two core modules to be eligible for badging as a Community Reporter. Core module 1 offers an introduction to audio skills and module 2 focuses on film making. Participants have the option to take both modules.
- Further courses are also available to increase skills and knowledge. Community Reporters can also obtain level 1 and 2 qualifications and also receive paid work through our employment programme.
We also offer a Train Trainers programme. If you require more information on this please contact us.
