Community Reporter Programme
Everyone has something to say - about where they live, what they're experiencing, and what they want to see happen. Our Community Reporter Programme gives people a platform to tell these stories online.
We work with individuals from all kinds of communities to give them a voice and build their confidence in the use of social media tools.
Reporters learn how to produce content with new social media tools such as blogs, podcasts, films and wikis, and use everything from mobile phones to video cameras and webcams. Stories are distributed through our on-line networks and through other social network sites such as twitter and facebook etc.. meaning that those voices can be heard by anyone on-line.
All reporters who have completed the foundation module, the mandatory module and the core modules receive a community reporters badge. Reporters as well as becoming part of the People's Voice Media network can attend a variety of events and activities, go onto further training or join our employment pool and receive commissions and part time work. Community reporter can be local individuals be part of existing organisations. We also offer a train trainers programmes for people to become certified trainers.

What people say about Community Reporters:
“At first I thought that pod casting was a silly idea. I mean who would want to listen to my woes about not being able to fill in a job application. Then I just found it to be like a friend and actually helped me realize that it was not me being stupid and unemployable and that the forms were the problem.”
